Paddy Milner and the Big Sounds

Paddy is a virtuosic pianist, singer and songwriter. His live performances with his 7-piece band 'Paddy Milner & The Big Sounds' are always varied and full of energy, featuring the finest musicians around:Alex Reeves (drums), Chris Hill (electric/double bass/backing vox), Randall Breneman (guitar/backing vox), Ben Somers (tenor sax), Jon Radford (trumpet) and Bob 'Bone' Dowell (trombone). In the year following his graduation from Kings College with a music degree, Paddy was introduced to British music guru Gerry Bron, signed a deal with Bronze Records and recorded the highly original album 'WALKING ON EGGSHELLS' [GBRCD1001]. This, his second album was recorded mainly at Gallery Studios with encouragement from the studio's owner and Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera. Taken from the album, the first single 'UNSQUARE DANCE' [GBRSD1001] is a riotous and truly original arrangement of Dave Brubeck's classic, and has received accolades all around. Brubeck himself said, 'I love it wouldn't change a note'. The video to the second single 'YOU THINK YOU"RE SO DAMN FUNNY' [GBRCD1003] got good coverage on French and German T.V., helping to propel the album to the No.1 Bestselling Jazz/Blues album in France in May 2005. As well as Paddy's songs and arrangements, the album features five songs co-written with iconic lyricist Pete Brown, most well known for his collaborations with Cream.Paddy has promoted the album around Europe, with the album becoming the best selling jazz/blues record in France during May 2005 and making its way into the overall French chart. 2006 will bring a brand new album, which is being recorded in Denmark, and an opening act European tour for blues/rock legend John Mayall & The BluesBreakers.
